Sildex SX (Generic Viagra, Sildenafil Citrate) is a PDE-5 (phosphodiesterase type 5) enzyme inhibitor and is manufactured by Sciroxx. Sildex stops the activity of the enzyme which allows the muscles of the blood vessels of the penis to relax creating an increased flow of blood. When combined with physical or psychological sexual stimulation, Sildex helps men to achieve and maintain an erection.
Warnings and Precautions
It is important to get a physical examination before taking Sildex. Tell your doctor your complete medical history and all of the medications you are taking; this includes prescription, over-the-counter, vitamins, and herbal remedies. Certain drugs can have an adverse reaction when combined with Sildex. Sildex should not be taken if you have or are:
allergic to Sildenafil Citrate or any of its ingredients
chronic bladder infections
diabetes
heart disease
kidney disease
thyroid disorder
Sildex may cause dizziness; do not drive or operate machinery until you know how Sildex affects you. If you experience an erection that is painful or lasts for more than four hours, seek medical attention immediately. A prolonged erection can cause permanent damage to the penis.
Do not take more than one dose of Sildex per day. If you accidently take an overdose, get immediate medical attention. When taken in doses larger than prescribed, Sildenafil Citrate can cause serious side effects.
Symptoms of an overdose include:
chest pain
irregular heartbeat
vomiting
fainting
severe drowsiness
Sildex is not intended for use by women, children, or teenage males under 18 years of age. Sildex should be stored in a cool dry place, out of the reach of children and pets.
Drug Interactions:
Tell your doctor what medications you take; certain drugs can interact with Sildex resulting in serious adverse reactions.
Do not take Sildex if you take any other medication used to treat ED or for prostate disorders unless prescribed by your doctor.
Do not take Sildex if you also take:
antidepressants
antifungal medications
blood pressure medications
certain antibiotics
hepatitis C medications
HIV/AIDS medications
How to use
When taking Sildex, follow your doctor’s instructions. Do not start, stop, or change your dosage without consulting with your doctor. One Sildex tablet should be taken with a full glass of water. Do not chew, crush, or break the tablets.
There is little chance of experiencing an accidental overdose of Sildex; as it is only taken when needed, not to exceed one tablet within a 24 hour period.
Possible Side Effects
Sildex can cause side effects some are common and should not last; others are serious and require medical attention. If you experience any of these serious side effects, get medical attention immediately:
chest pain
fainting
irregular heartbeat
loss of hearing
loss of vision
pain in legs or back
priapism – a serious medical condition with a painful or prolonged erection
rash or skin eruptions
ringing in ears
severe dizziness
severe drowsiness
severe headache
severe nausea
tingling or pain in the arm, jaw, or neck
Common side effects can include:
upset stomach
diarrhea
dizziness
mood changes
nausea
stuffy nose
flushing
headache
